We already have clients needing support and regularly receive new enquiries throughout the year. As demand continues to grow, we are looking for reliable self-employed Associates to help us provide the high standard of care our clients have come to expect.
This opportunity suits people who enjoy animals, like working independently and take pride in providing a caring, professional service. Associates support clients and their pets through short home visits, helping provide reassurance when owners are away or need an extra helping hand.

From meet and greets and key handling to visit routines, client communication and day-to-day procedures, we've already done much of the groundwork. Our systems, guidance and resources are designed to help you deliver visits confidently and consistently, while still enjoying the flexibility of self-employment.

What We Do
✅ Provide flat-rate home and pet visits, usually between 5 and 20 minutes
✅ Care for reptiles, birds, fish, small animals, cats and dogs
✅ Feeding, refreshing water, changing litter, cleaning pet areas and giving basic medication
✅ Carry out simple tasks such as watering plants, putting out bins and keeping an eye on the home
✅ Provide WhatsApp updates with photos and videos
We do not offer dog walking, overnight stays or long-duration in-home pet sitting.
How It Works
Associates work independently on a self-employed basis within their local area, while receiving support with bookings, marketing, administration and client coordination from Helpful Home and Pet Services. Our established systems and straightforward processes mean you can focus on caring for clients and their pets, rather than having to work out how everything needs to be done yourself.
We operate 7 days a week, with client demand often falling on weekends, school holidays and peak travel periods. You choose your own availability and can accept or decline visits that fit your schedule. Visits are usually short and planned around pets' routines, with clear guidance covering everything from meet and greets and key handling to visit procedures and client updates.
Associate qualities
This work suits someone who is calm, reliable and comfortable working independently. You should enjoy animals, have good common sense and take pride in doing things properly. You don't need to be someone who wants to build a business from scratch. A practical, dependable approach and the ability to follow established systems are much more important.
Building your local area
As you become established, there may be opportunities to support more clients in your local area, including both existing clients and new enquiries. We provide the marketing materials, guidance and support to help introduce you to your local community and build awareness of the service. The aim is to gradually develop a regular client base without you having to figure it all out on your own.
Working with others
Associates are part of a small, friendly local network. Everyone works independently, but there is support when it's needed and Associates may occasionally help neighbouring areas during busy periods or holidays. This can also provide opportunities for cover when you need time off, depending on who is available. The aim is to keep things running smoothly for clients while giving Associates a supportive network around them.
